The funds used to design and build the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts were a gift from the late Dr. A. N. Spencer and his wife, Jackie Spencer Morgan, a life-long lover of theater. The venue boasts a 514-seat indoor theater, a 1,200-seat outdoor theater, state of the art sound and lighting systems, a “Universal” interior design, and a uniquely bold and contemporary exterior.

The Spencer Theater operates year round, hosting between 30 and 35 concerts, shows, plays, dance companies, and family and children’s productions each year. The Spencer is also available to rent to concert promoters and for weddings, parties, and events.

The Spencer is open for public tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am (excluding holidays). Call (575) 336-4800 for tour reservations.
